The 2011 identity for Designers’ Open is based on a collection of forms, structures and materials; things that designers look at, run their hand over, and enjoy to be inspired by. By using ten different posters: one yellow poster with text and nine blue posters with only shapes, we created an seemingly unlimited amout of poster combinations. All blue posters we designed so that they could be turned by 180º, increasing the number of possibilities even more. Before handing the posters out to the distributor, half of the blue posters were turned and the stack was shuffled by hand like a deck of cards, to ensure this variety would make its way to the streets.
