Leipziger Hörspielsommer 2016

1/ |

Every summer, a park in Leipzig is hosting a ten-day radio drama festival, the biggest of its kind in Germany. This year again, I worked on posters, flyers and other printed matter to support this fantastic initiative. I have been connected with this project since 2009.

Wayfinding Westbad

1/ |

To guide visitors through the venue „Westbad“ in Leipzig, an iconic house that was originally built as a swim center in 1928, I have been working on the wayfinding system. Special icons were made and the typography was carefully selected to match the remaining original lettering. Having everything painted instead of stuck onto the walls was another way of keeping close to the house’s historic roots.

The building (and the wayfinding system) can also be visited in Google Street View.

Argument. A Game About Addiction.

1/ |

This role-game was made to help school children discuss addictions from different points of view, to make them understand the complexity and to have them talk freely. The game aims to put every player in different situations, their roles and properties are different every time they play. A very important and intelligent project that I worked on with much joy.
In addition to the design, I worked on the packaging and partly produced the game in-house.

Bla° Architects

1/ |

Making a new website for these Leipzig architects was a lot of fun, especially because we both had a similar eye for detail. What started as the idea of a small makeover soon became a new website. All content can be filtered, viewed in both grid and list mode, projects were given better image galleries and some even have a small diary. And all pages can be scrolled down to automatically load the main page, with filters still applied.

Handbrotzeit Festival

1/ |

Another website for the crazy flying bakery also known as Handbrot. They were looking for a website to show where they are going and what they plan to stuff thousands of mouths with during the next festival. The result is a colorful world full of real moving confetti and flying banners, that is capable of presenting even the strangest content in style.

Rudi, Ping Ping, Rudolf and Pepe

1/ |

The owners of the well-known bar Rudi were looking for a way to show the connections between their four projects, that are alle located in the same neighborhood in Leipzig. We made them a system of four websites that all have their own identity but still can easily be identified as one family. They all have their own domains, but are centrally managed from one CMS.

Handbrotzeit — The Shop

1/ |

The first stationary shop opened by the festival-bakery-firm Handbrot was opened, of course in their home town Leipzig. It is used to show the daily special and the regular offerings and some occasional evening concerts. Two subtle videos of the storefront were made by Ertzui. One for the daytime, one for the night.

Appelsberg

1/ |

An invitation for one of the most beautiful wedding I have ever seen, which was held on top of a hill in beautiful Franconia. Something that was almost completely made by hand, for a change. All invitations were completed with some gold paint by hand, after printing.

Designers’ Open 2012

1/ |

The location chosen for this years’ Designers’ Open festival became to be the guiding line for the design we did: using lines and bright colors that become start, goal or sidelines in sport, a simple yet vivid and very recognisable identity was created. This system was used throughout all products created: from posters and flyers to guiding system during the festival.

Designers’ Open 2011

1/ |

The new identity for Designers’ Open is based on a collection of forms, structures and materials, things that a designer looks at, runs his hand over, and enjoys to be inspired by. With only a few posters that could be put up normally and turned upside down, in addition to one text poster, we created a wide variety of shapes and combinations on the streets and in all (printed) media. To guide the visitors to the slightly hard-to-find venue, all were given a yellow plastic bag, showing arriving visitors where to go by the ones that already had left.

Anja Cohen

1/ |

The business cards for photographer Anja Cohen had to meet three goals: they always had to be slightly different, cheap in production and allow quick changes in the front motives that are printed in 50-piece editions only. A stamp solved all these problems and it is also be used to brand letterheads, invitations, parcels and other (unforeseen) items without causing further costs.

Leipzig South Cemetry

1/ |

The Leipzig South Cemetry is one of the biggest cemetries form the romantic age, well-designed to looke like a work of nature, rather than a work of man. Over the years this cemetry has be reclaimed by nature, making it hard for a visitor to find and see impressive tombstones of famous people. This map offers visitors several routes that focus on artits, scientists or victims of war.
This project was initially a school assignment, but it might be published in the future.

Dreams of a Better Life

A catalogue for a charitative photo-exhibition by students from the HGB, ment to support the Leipzig AIDS Fund. Reaching for the stars and daydreaming about a better world was the main theme in the exhibition and in the catalogue: we supplied every photo with its own zodiac sign.

Diary 2009

1/ |

To overcome neverending problems with loose scraps of paper getting lost, my new diary was printed with an empty spread between every consecutive week. After binding and cutting, the right side of the book was glued shut for the empty spreads only to be opened on demand, supplying me with more space to write and draw.
